Guruprasad Krishnamoorthy

PhD student @PHILIPS on Comprehensive quantification and visualization of cardiovascular function & flow

Guru was born in India in 1988. He is fascinated by the physics governing Magnetic Resonance Imaging and methods for diagnosis and monitoring treatment response of various diseases including neurological disorders, Musculoskeletal disorders, and cardiovascular diseases. He earned his Bachelor of Biomedical Engineering degree from PSG College of Technology, India in 2010, Master of Science degree from Drexel University, Philadelphia, USA in 2015. While doing his coursework at Drexel University, he worked as Student researcher at the Center for Magnetic Resonance and Optical Imaging, University of Pennsylvania, USA. In this role, he developed techniques to image potential biomarkers of Alzheimer’s Disease, Parkinson’s Disease and Osteoarthritis at ultra-high field MRI. He is currently an early stage researcher at Philips supported by Marie Curie Fellowship under MUSICA project. The research goal is to develop a comprehensive MRI application to image and quantify blood flow in and around the human heart in a practically achievable scan time for routine clinical evaluation.
