Michal Jaworek

PhD student @POLIMI on Innovative platforms for realistic clinician training in the lab

Michal Jaworek was born in 1988. He obtained his master degree in biomedical engineering at AGH Krakow University of Science and Technology in Poland in 2012. His master thesis project was carried out at Helmholtz Institute, RWTH Aachen and Uniklinik Aachen, Germany. The thesis focused on development of mock ventricle to reproduce Frank-Starling mechanism and its validation in experimental set up (recognised by Polish Society of Biomedical Engineering and Biocibernetics in a competition for best 2012 master thesis in the field of biomedical engineering). Between 2012 and 2015 he was a employed as Junior R&D Engineer at Foundation of Cardiac Surgery Development in Zabrze, Poland where he was responsible for development of control-measurement systems dedicated for ventricular assist devices evaluation in the lab.Currently, he is a Marie Curie fellow within MUSICA project (MUltiSectoral Integrative approaches to CArdiac care) and PhD Candidate at Politecnico di Milano. His research focuses on mock circulation loops development for clinical training in the lab.
