Emanuele Rondanina

PhD student @TU/e on Modeling tools for clinical decision making

Emanuele Rondanina was born in Genoa (Italy) in 1989. He obtained his Master Degree in Biomedical Engineering at the University of Genoa in 2014. His master thesis project has been developed in collaboration with the University of Stockholm the KTH. The thesis topic concerned a numerical modelling of different scenarios of retinal detachment in the vitreous chamber of the human eye. Here the fluid motion has been solved with the Navier-Stokes equation while the fluid-structure interaction (FSI) has been described with the Immersed Boundary Method (Peskin, 2002). In the 2015 he completed an internship with Carestream Healthcare as client support specialist for RIS databases and PACS software provided at European hospitals. Currently, he is a Marie Curie Early Stage Researcher at Eindhoven within the MUSICA project (MUltiSectoral Integrative approaches to CArdiac care). His research focuses on a patient specific cardiac model to predict short and long-term outcome of surgical intervention.
