Comprehensive quantification and visualization of cardiovascular function & flow

Early Stage Researcher: Guruprasad Krishnamoorthy

Host institution: PHILIPS

Objectives

The ESR will be involved in the team at PHILIPS dedicated to the development of methods & tools for the visualization and analysis of cardiac magnetic resonance (CMR) images, with a focus on the diagnosis of heart failure.

As for Task 2.1, the specific features of heart failure reflect into the need for specific and pathology-oriented modeling tools, exploiting the information from different image modalities or different acquisition procedures, and focusing on different morpho-functional characterization.

The ESR will focus on the design and implementation of algorithms for the comprehensive analysis and visualization of anatomy and function of the heart, and about the flow in the heart’s ventricles and surrounding great vessels. The ultimate goal is to develop an analysis workflow dedicated to the treatment of heart failure that seamlessly and effectively connects to the modeling methods.

Expected Results

An efficient and effective cardiac MR image analysis & visualization tool to assist the model-based treatment of heart failure
