Yağmur Gülkanat

PhD student @MATERIALISE on 4D segmentation and measurements for transcatheter heart valve implantation

Yağmur Gülkanat was born in Turkey in 1987. She obtained her BSc degree in Mathematics at Ege University (Tr) in 2011, and her MSc degree in Computational Science and Engineering at Istanbul Technical University (Tr) in 2014. Her thesis was about “Modeling of Blood Flow and Vessel Wall Interaction for Stenosed Coronary Arteries”. Also, during her master, she learned using image processing tools for patient specific CT datasets. She has a good knowledge about C++ programming. Currently, she is a Marie Curie Early Stage Researcher within the MUSICA (Multisectoral Integrative Approaches to Cardiac care) project. She is a Research Engineer at Materialise (Be) and also a PhD candidate at KU Leuven and UGent under the framework of MUSICA. Her research is focused on designing new algorithms for 4D cardiac image analysis and segmentation, and validation of the developed methods and algorithms.
